چکیده

Discrete-event simulation of computer networks has significant scalability issues, which makes simulating large-scale networks problematic. We propose a high-level abstraction modeling network domains, interdomain links and traffic with highly scalable analytical models, which is much more efficient but slightly less accurate than node-by-node models. Thus, simulation scenarios containing several ISP networks become feasible. We also propose a way to combine this modeling approach with traditional packet-based simulators and present some preliminary evaluation results of the concept.

Enhancing Discrete Event Network Simulators with Analytical Network Cloud Models

Discrete event simulation of computer networks has significant scalability issues, which makes simulating large scale networks problematic. We propose to extend the approach by combining it with analytical models for network clouds, which are much more efficient, if less accurate, than nodeby-node models. Thus, simulation scenarios containing several ISP networks become feasible. We introduce a...

On the Performance Prediction of PRAM Simulating Models

This paper considers a performance prediction for various computer networks in terms of the number of references made to the memory. Analytical solutions were obtained for the models with multiple requests to the memory and parallel access to one memory bank with a Negative Exponential distribution of requests generated by CPUs. Numerical simulation was carried out for Hypercube, Cube Connected...

Evaluation and comparison of performance of SDSM and CLIMGEN models in simulation of climatic variables in Qazvin plain

Climate change is found to be the most important global issue in the 21st century, so to monitor its trend is of great importance. Atmospheric General Circulation Models because of their large scale computational grid are not able to predict climatic parameters on a point scale, so small scale methods should be adapted. Among downscaling methods, statistical methods are used as they are easy to...
